From Saturday the 3rd of July the hotel, which we are directly connected to, will be used by the government to house people in isolation after returning from red list countries. These people will be escorted directly from the airport to the hotel where they will isolate in rooms.
It is with great regret that I must announce that, for the period of time it is an isolation hotel, we are obliged to close the club to all members and guests. This means that Affinity Health Club Markyate will be closed from Saturday 03/07/2021 until further notice. The government currently plans to use the hotel until the end of September however this may be a shorter period of time depending on the demand.

Really disappointed with this. Having just stopped children’s swimming lesson elsewhere to come to you we have once again been left with nothing!
So, restrictions lift on 19th July and we still have no gym / swim facilities. 🤷♀️
That’s disappointing to hear ,more advanced notice would of been better
The app didn’t show the first closure week as bookable for a good 4 days before we were told. So, someone knew before we’re told everyone found out.
But why is there a paid Facebook ad for new members signing up today? I just saw it and commented on it. “We’re closed for who knows how long, but hey, join us today!”
IHG have really badly managed this imho. I bet I’m not the only member who’s cheesed off!
What about those with pool membership?
I feel really sorry for all who work there and have put so much into starting back up safely .
For the owner and high level general managers - I can’t , out of politeness, say what I would like to say 🤬
Have you any idea of the physical and mental damage yet another 3 months with no classes will do .
There are a lot of very angry people not helped by the sending of emails to members a mere few days before closure - a cowards way of doing things in my opinion !
